The bottom line is the Obama ground game was outstanding win or lose. Full marks to them. Even though at this juncture the inside straight of Florida, Virginia, Ohio and Colorado are available for Romney the reality is Team Obama out-flanked Team Romney in the fringe Battlegrounds. Everywhere I expected there to be insufficient Democrats to match the polls, Team Obama appears to have found votes to outperform Romney’s supposed advantage with Independents. We’ll see what the internals say over the coming days but no matter the national outcome, Democrats win in the Senate and Republicans win in the House means both sides need to better evaluate how best to move the country forward regardless of who wins the top of the ticket prize.

Nevada, Colorado, and New Mexico are 20 electoral votes. It is not clear that Rubio a Cuban even helps with the Hispanic vote.
Republicans need to capture the Midwest, with WIsconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Ohio, and Iowa offering 80 votes, plus Illinois.

My final thought is George W. Bush screwed over the country (and the republican party) by not acting like a fiscally conservative republican.

As an outsider (Canadian), I thought Romney ran an outstanding campaign. In fact, I don’t remember ever seeing such a good campaign anywhere. What’s worse is that Reagan would have lost. He had the same advantage with white people and minorities (or lack thereof). But it was 88% white in 1980. It’s now 74%. Hispanics went 70% for Obama. Mitt only narrowly won Independents.
This is why I never understood the push for conservatives against amnesty. Granted I don’t know the situation, but it seemed off to me. Also, I was a lib when Bush was in power. I can’t tell you how scared people are of the Bush family. I hear some people talk about running Jeb. 50+1 state landslide for his opponent.
GOP has gotta find some new demographics.
Amnesty means more HIspanics to vote for Democrats. Who cares if it is now just 55-45. And gaining 20% of the Hispanic vote is only worth the same as 2% of the white vote.

The number one issue was the economy, and polls say Romney was better able to fix the economy. Yet he lost. We now suffer the pangs of defeat after what turns out to have been excessive optimism. But you helped us fight the good fight. Our nation faces a very uncertain future now, as we all realize. Still, human nature remains constant. God’s laws are still inviolate, even if the secular state flaunts them. We do not break the laws of nature, but we will break ourselves upon them. Eventually, an awakening will come through sheer necessity. It is not our option as human beings to surrender to the forces of evil. Tomorrow we must start again. Maybe keeping this site alive will help us to do so. Eventually, good always triumphs over evil. This is still God’s world.

I can respect that. Fortunately we live in a country where religious freedom is a choice and we are free to choose what spiritual/moral laws we are bound by. Though, I can understand why Christians may be getting nervous as so many other religions enter the country. But Latinos are usually Christian so that religion as the national relgious identity is probably safe for now.
Oh, I am very happy with religious pluralism in this country. Don’t get me wrong. I do not want to return to the Middle Ages. I just mean my hope is eschatologically grounded. I am invested in politics, but it is not my ultimate hope. Sorry if that was unclear.

On the Florida Secretary of State election results page (by county), there are columns with red X’s indicating that particular counties have not yet counted their early and absentee votes, and none of the counties have yet counted any provisional ballots. I note that Miami-Dade has counted its early ballots, but 5 counties have not. I also note that many, many counties (including both heavily Democratic and heavily Republican counties) have not yet counted their absentee ballots, according to the red X’s in that particular column. Anyone have any knowledge about this?

The closer you inspect the numbers the more it makes sense the dems had a plan for exact headcount and votecount planned…if they can print money and fake a stock market they can easily fake an election where needed.

M.White, I am an Evangelical, i thought God would give us a window of grace by allowing Romney to win. I guess that is not the case. It sounds kooky to most, even Republicans but this nation has once again shaken it’s fist at God. I am so glad to be under the covering of the blood of Jesus. I think Obama will persecute the Church, the true Church. You want to know what is going to happen? Read The Vision and Beyond by the late Pastor David Wilkerson out of NYC, Times Square Church. Very hard times are coming.
