Milwaukee suburb…safe to say just like with places like Chicago, Philly, Cleveland, Detroit, etc….the key for a GOP win is to pick off the suburbs surrounding the urban liberal center?
This address is the Wisconsin State Fairground. It’s only a few blocks outside the city and is one of the primary political venues for Milwaukee events. If this were a pure play for the suburbs, he would go to Waukesha.
This is exciting! I am not from WI, but I have been waiting for months to see if Romney would visit WI. Bush only lost Wisconsin by 11,000 votes out 3million cast. Oh, and to those who say Romney is visiting Wisconsin because Romney knows he is going to lose Ohio…Romney is outspending Obama in Ohio this week, and will also outspend Obama in Ohio next week.
I remembered hearing somewhere the Romney campaign wouldn’t waste the primary asset (Romney) on a trip to a state not polling well for them, which seems to explain why only Ryan has been in PA.
But this trip goes along way toward showing the campaign sees WI in reach.
werent the questions about bush’s narrow loss was due to some voter irregularities like payoffs to people in milwaukee… of course that was bush and not obama… and the payoffs were cigarettes, not len dunham contraceptives
Would love to see WI flip.
Yes, have a friend that lives in West Allis. I let him know about it…and told him I’m very jealous
Should try messing with Obama’s head and have a quick drop in to Minnesota while he’s up that way…..
I’ve always thought it would be hilarious if Romney showed up in a Chicago suburb and held an impromptu rally there, just to see Obama and Axelrod and co. go into a spastic panic.
When are we gonna see the latest NV data? I’m eagerly looking forward and hoping Washoe helps us out!
Seriously, you keep hearing how the US is “more polarised” than ever before and the Republicans could never take back New England or the Upper Midwest.
BUT….I am assuming GWB wasn’t the sort that went down well in places like Maine or Minnesota?
But surely Romney is? Is it seriously possible he can make big inroads into “economically Republican but socially Democrat” states in the north and north-east (or even west coast i.e. Oregon??)
Sweet. I’ll be there.
Gingrich on Greta tonight said he saw the internal polls for WI. Romney’s up 1 pt. He’s also up 2 in OH–and surging. Gingrich thinks we’ll take the Senate as well. He predicted a blow-out with Obama never getting past 47%.
Gingrich also mentioned he was talking with Walker and Walker told him Romney would win WI.
politicians talk, data speak
Gingrich says a lot of things publicly, much of which is not accurate.
Will Walker go to the mattresses for Mitt? If there is a recount fight in WI, will Walker pull out all the stops for Mitt?
I should hope so. Of course, we can safely say there will be no fight in Minnesota; Minny Repubs will take a knee.
As of late I have been seeing a lot more adds for Mitt on T.V. here in Wisconsin. A few weeks ago, Obama adds were airing 2 to 3 for every 1 Romney add. Now it’s about even. Between, the Romney campaign, ROF and the NRA, they are packing quite the punch. The best is the sentimental one with story of Mitt writing the will for the teenage boy who died from cancer. That sort of thing goes over very well with Wisconsinites. Just my observations.
That ad about the boy is funded with $12M for just Ohio and Wisconsin. Agreed on the impact. They should air it in MI, PA, and MN too.
Thank you for this information, ordered tickets and will be attending.
Romney super-PACS ads are running on Twin Cities TV. Saw a couple during the Vikings game. Smart move.
I’ll bet Romney is in Ohio the morning before this evening event in Wisconsin.
From the GOP:
WISCONSIN:
Priorities USA is placing new broadcast buys in La Crosse, Madison and Milwaukee for 10/24-11/6. Earlier, they had booked buys in all markets in WI for 10/9-11/6 and then cancelled all of them, except for Green Bay. Now they going back into these other markets and booking new buys for the last two weeks.
Rasmussen on Wisconsin:

Why isn’t Paul going to be with Romney ?/ Why does Romney send Wisconsin native son Ryan into the far South ? I wish he would learn to use his running mate RIGHT ! Paul is hot and the more exposure he gets the better. Too bad the mainstream leftist media is afraid to give Ryan any attention– ” afraid ” is the right word .
I wouldn’t miss this for anything. Mitt will make history. I will be there three hours early, hope I can get in.
