The above tweet from Jeff Zeleny is more important than the actual number because of the comparative nature of events and crowd sizes. Yesterday’s Romney crowd was 12,000 — a fantastic showing. But that was in Cuyahoga County, a densely populated region who saw 658k people vote in 2008. Today’s rally was in the more sparsely populated Shelby County that saw 23k people vote in 2008. Romney’s turnout tonight of
8,000 9000 (h/t Kevin in the comments) is 39% of the entire county … 39% of the ENTIRE County.
